Heres where some of your frequently asked questions about Mario may be answered.

Q=Why is his name Mario?
A=When Nintendo was in a meeting, Their landlord (Mario Segale) came in demanded his over due rent payment. At that time. Nintendo was in a meeting trying to come up with a name for jumpman. So Nintendo gave the name Mario because they noticed that their landlord, "Mario Segale" Looked like their character jumpman, they named him Mario for the U.S. release of Mario's games.

Q=Why Does Mario have a huge nose?
A=To make the nose more noticeable (Wouldn't it look weird he had a human nose?)

Q=Why Does Mario have a big mustache?
A=To make the nose more noticeable as well (The black color makes the skin color stand out more) Also to hide his mouth.

Q=Whats with Mario's Red and Blue overalls?
A=The Red undershirt makes the Arm movements more noticeable, and he was supposed to be a carpenter.

Q=Why the big red hat and black sideburns?
A=So Nintendo wouldn't have the trouble of making hair animation, and they had sideburns to hide the ears.

Q=How many games has Mario had since he was made up?
A=About 150 games and still growing.

Q=Has Mario been in any games besides Mario Games?
A=He has been in other games as a referee, or just for show. In some games he has even been an enemy.

Q=Who is the voice actor for Mario?
A=The voice actor for Mario is Charles Martinet. He also voices characters such as Wario, Waluigi, Luigi, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and characters such as toadsworth. For more info about Charles Martinet, visit his website.

Q=Where are Mario and Luigi supposed to be from?
A=Well according to Nintendo Power, Mario and Luigi are supposed to be Italian plumbers from Brooklyn, New York.

Q=What are Mario's Favorite food?
A=His favorite foods are supposedly Pasta and Pizza, as he is Italian.

Q=How does Mario Speak?
A=In most games Mario has a thick Italian accent when it comes to speaking English, and in some games he has even broken into Italian. Mario doesn't really get into full conversations, and really just says phrases such as "Yahoo!" or "Its-a me!".

Q=Why does Mario jump on enemies to kill them?
A=Gotten from his early name, "Jump man", he was known for jumping, so it was only natural for that to be an attack.

Q=How tall is Mario?
A=Mario is supposedly 5 feet tall, or 155 cm.

Q=Who is the girl in Mario's first game, Donkey Kong?
A=In that game, it wasn't Princess peach, it was actually Pauline, Mario's Girlfriend.

Q=How was Mario born?
A=Technically, from the game "Yoshi's Island", Mario was dropped by the stork and the Yoshis had to carry Mario back to the stork, thus being the point of the game.

Q=Has Mario been on T.V.?
A=He has been on some shows such as Super Mario World, and the Super Mario bros series. The shows were made after the games themselves. He has also been in "Mario bros. Super show".

Q=How Famous is Mario?
A=He is so famous, he is more Popular then mickey Mouse in children. He has appeared on tons of Merchandise, such as shampoo, plushies, badges, lunch boxes, and even has a wax statue in Hollywood. He is one of the most legendary characters in gaming history!

Q=How much longer will Mario be in games?
A=It is hard to say how long he might be in games, though my best guess would be another 25 years. He has already been in gaming for 25 years, and has made about 3 to 6 games every year. Though there really is no correct answer.

Q=How come Mario doesn't Marry Princess Peach?
A=Nintendo wants to keep it a friendly relationship because it may effect the storyline & games
